The digital-camera look

Direct flash, noisy shadows, a slight colour cast and casual framing. Describe these traits to the model and apply them to your photo.

This is a style edit, not a photograph taken with a particular camera.

How to recreate the look

Upload a photo or describe a new scene. Specify flash, light and colour, then inspect the result. Change one parameter per attempt.

Check access and allowances in your account. Generation requires sign-in.

Light, colour and texture

For flash, request direct light and a darker background. Add moderate shadow noise for texture. Specify a warm or cool cast separately.

Do not amplify every effect at once; keep the face and important details recognizable.

Your photo or a new image

Upload a source portrait to retain your likeness. For an imagined scene, describe the setting, people and lighting.

How it differs from a filter

A model can change scene details as well as colour. Compare with the original; two attempts may differ.

What to adjust

For an overly clean image, add a little noise. For an overbright face, reduce the flash. If likeness is lost, return to the source.
