Reddit users noticed that ChatGPT can request age verification via document if it thinks the person might be under 18. Until verification is completed, access to 'adult' topics is automatically blocked .

But what caused surprise is that even fully grown adults are getting these requests: one user said the system asked for his passport even though he is 30. In OpenAI, they explain that the new protection is being rolled out gradually and is being tested in English-speaking countries .
