1X Startup's Humanoid Robot NEO — A New Home Assistant for $20,000

Norwegian company 1X has opened pre-orders for NEO — a home robot that can talk, find objects, make the bed, and even suggest recipes.

At 168 cm tall and weighing 30 kg, NEO looks almost human — it even comes with a stylish turtleneck. It works up to 4 hours without recharging and returns to its dock station on its own.

At launch, the robot will be partially controlled by a company operator via VR — like a student under supervision. Over time, it will become fully autonomous.

Price — $20,000, or via subscription at $499 per month. NEO goes on sale in 2026, in three colors: beige, gray, and black.
