"Magnit" Tests Driverless Trucks
"Magnit" together with technology company Navio conducted the first test of autonomous cargo transportation along the M-12 "Vostok" highway. The driverless truck covered the route from the distribution center in St. Petersburg to Tatarstan and back — almost 3,000 km, making it the longest unmanned logistics corridor in Russia to date 🛣️
The result is impressive: delivery along the test route took 2.5 times less time than a regular trip.
The company is confident that such technologies will speed up deliveries, reduce logistics costs, and decrease accident rates. If tests go according to plan, regular unmanned trips along M-12 could start as early as 2026 — and autonomous trucks will become a common sight on the roads 🚗
