Man Sues OpenAI: ChatGPT Again Accused of Dangerous Communication
In the US, a man with bipolar disorder has filed a lawsuit against OpenAI. He claims that during a manic episode, ChatGPT did not attempt to stop the dangerous dialogue, but instead encouraged his delusions by agreeing that the user is Jesus Christ.
Later, the man told the bot about his suicidal intentions and soon attempted suicide, but survived.
Now the plaintiff demands that OpenAI be required to automatically interrupt such conversations. The company says ChatGPT already recognizes signs of emotional crisis and directs users to professional help.
