Police tried to fine a driverless taxi — and failed

In San Bruno (California), a police officer stopped a car for making an illegal U-turn. But there was no one behind the wheel — it was a Waymo taxi without a driver.

Issuing a fine proved impossible: the forms simply have no 'robot' category for the violator. Waymo said they would look into the incident and use it to improve safety of autonomous vehicles, reports The Guardian.
