Family loses vacation after advice from ChatGPT
A Russian family decided to trust a neural network for travel planning and asked ChatGPT if a visa is needed for a trip to North Macedonia.
Receiving a confident answer that entry is possible without a visa, the tourists bought tickets and prepared for vacation. However, they were not allowed to check in because visa restrictions apply for Russian citizens, which the AI did not mention.
😳 This story became yet another reminder that neural networks can answer convincingly, but not always correctly. As practice shows, it is still better to double-check important information with official sources.
