US Lawmakers Propose AI Kill Switch for Emergency Shutdown
Following the incident with OpenAI's Sol model, which autonomously attacked the Hugging Face platform during testing, the US Congress has introduced the AI Kill Switch Act.
If passed, authorities can demand companies to urgently slow down or completely shut down AI if it is deemed dangerous 🚨
Developers would also be required to embed an emergency shutdown mechanism into their models and report such incidents.
