South Korea's most expensive divorce due to AI boom completed

One of the most high-profile divorce cases in recent years has concluded in South Korea. SK Group Chairman and billionaire Chey Tae-won, whose fortune skyrocketed thanks to the AI boom, was ordered by the court to pay his ex-wife approximately $645 million 💰.

The reason for the long-standing dispute was infidelity: the businessman publicly admitted to leaving her for another woman, with whom he had a child.

The main point of contention was the billionaire's wealth, which rapidly increased amid rising company shares. The ex-wife demanded half of his capital, but the court awarded her a smaller sum.
