In France, Thousands of Actors Protest Against AI
Over 4,000 industry representatives accused AI technologies of systematically using their faces and voices without permission. On the eve of the César Awards, they published an open letter in Le Parisien and warned: if nothing changes, the profession could be radically transformed.
🎙 Already today, actors are offered pennies for the right to use their digital likeness, and voices are being cloned without consent. The blow is particularly painful for dubbing. Modern algorithms can reproduce a voice so that viewers cannot tell it from the real one.
