In France, thousands of actors protest against AI

More than 4,000 industry representatives accused AI technologies of systematically using their faces and voices without permission. On the eve of the César Awards, they published an open letter in Le Parisien and warned: if nothing changes, the profession could radically transform.

Already today, actors are offered pennies for the right to use their digital likeness, and voices are cloned without consent. Especially painful is the impact on dubbing. Modern algorithms can reproduce a voice so that viewers cannot tell it apart from the real one.
