Apple Raises Price of Mac Mini Due to AI Hype
Apple increased the starting price of the Mac mini from $599 to $799. The reason is a shortage of components and a sharp increase in demand for computers used for AI work. Apple is not the first time adjusting prices amid the AI boom — other Mac lines have also become more expensive.
According to Tim Cook, the shortage is due to production constraints of modern chips, as well as users massively buying the device to run autonomous AI agents. Demand exceeded forecasts, and deliveries are now stretched over weeks, sometimes months.
