AI helped British woman get her voice back after 25 years of silence
British artist Sarah Ezekiel lost her ability to speak due to motor neuron disease 25 years ago. All this time she communicated through an impersonal speech synthesizer.
Recently, engineers from Smartbox and ElevenLabs found an 8-second VHS recording in her family archive where Sarah is speaking. This was enough to restore her real voice.
When the system first uttered the words with her own voice, Sarah burst into tears. And her children heard their mother's voice for the first time. ❤️
