The CEO of a game publisher decided to use ChatGPT to get rid of his studio's management and avoid paying them a $250 million bonus. This concerns a company that bought the developers of the game Subnautica and promised them a large payout upon reaching goals.

When it became clear that the studio had almost achieved them, the management decided to 'rewrite the rules' — and even created an action plan with the help of AI

But things didn't go as planned: the court found that the management acted unlawfully and ordered the reinstatement of the dismissed top executives. Moreover, the deadline for receiving the bonus was extended.
