Starbucks Abandons AI After Employee Complaints
Starbucks quietly shut down its AI assistant just a few months after launch. The system was supposed to help coffee shops monitor inventory and automatically forecast deliveries. Baristas were supposed to work faster and easier, but in reality, it turned out the opposite.
Employees started complaining en masse that the AI was confusing product leftovers, making mistakes in orders, and only slowing down the work of coffee shops.
Instead of a "smart assistant," baristas got chaos during shifts. The story once again shows that even the largest companies cannot yet perfectly integrate AI into ordinary human work.
