McDonald’s Begins Testing AI That Takes Orders Instead of Employees
McDonald’s has launched trials of a new system called ArchIQ at several restaurants in the US. The neural network can communicate with customers in different languages, take orders through the drive-thru, and even help manage restaurant operations.
The new AI is positioned as the 'brain of the restaurant': it can track processes and help speed up service.
According to the company, the system has already processed over a million orders. If tests are successful, such AI could appear in restaurants across the country.
