Conflict erupts at Samsung over AI bonuses: millions for some, almost nothing for others
Amid the AI boom, Samsung narrowly avoided a major strike by reaching an agreement with employees on profit sharing from its AI division.
But not everyone was happy: chip division workers could receive bonuses up to $400,000, while employees in smartphones, TVs, and home appliances got 100 times less 😤
The huge disparity in bonuses sparked a conflict inside Samsung: employees started wearing black ribbons in protest. Ironically, the mobile division used to save the company, but now AI and chip specialists have become the stars.
