Cancer Vaccine No Longer a Fantasy
Moderna's personalized melanoma vaccine has reached the primary endpoint of its Phase 3 trial.
It is created based on a 'portrait' of the tumor. The result is a personalized antiviral that teaches the immune system to destroy cancer cells remaining after surgery.
Full data hasn't been published yet, and this is not yet a cure for all types of cancer, but the technology has already worked in human trials. If the approach is confirmed for other tumors, cancer will increasingly be stopped before recurrence.
