AI Launched in San Francisco to Save Whales from Ship Collisions
In San Francisco Bay, the WhaleSpotter system—a network of cameras and AI—has been deployed to monitor whales around the clock and warn ships of danger.
The system detects water splashes, movements, and thermal signals from animals even at night and in fog, then sends captains a signal to reduce speed or change course.
